Far into Earth's future, the terribly future that seemed destined for this landfill of a planet have disappeared. The world has become a perfect planet, where disease, old age, and ugliness are truly a buried thing of the past. However, these wonderful things are nothing but a glimpse of the surface of this planet: appearances, nothing more.
Everything that does not adhere to the world's set standards of perfection is thrown away to be hidden and ignored... People included. The Shintobu District, known as Shadow Town to it's unfortunate residents, is one of these places.
The main purpose of Shadow Town is to show the importance of telling the truth. It also shows what happens when people think that they are perfect and try to play God. These are two very simple truths that I have found other individuals too often ignore. The so-called monsters in my story are really the victims and the perfect people are the ones who deserve the hell that Shadow Town often can be.
I came up with this story mainly for something that I would want to read. I really think that's what you have to do, whether you are a comic creator, an author, a fine artist, what have you. You have to stay true to your own likes and dislikes, no matter what you do creatively. What others like will always change and you really can't effectively second guess how the trends will change.
